St Jean de Luz - Jeff Bailey III

A word of two from Diane today:

Had to head to Biarritz to pick up another rental car for the French section of our holiday. Gail suggested we call in at a small fishing village along the way called St Jean de luz. Soooo glad we did.

A stunning we place and it helped that we were basking in temperatures over 35 degrees. (Did you get the pun?) Yes, this is still in Basque country. They just speak French.

The girls went mad as the shopping was fantastic.Jeff is going to love France and the food, which in the cakes and pastry department, at least, are a cut above the Spanish offerings. Great kids clothing store, fabrics, and women's clothing.

The village and the beaches are picture perfect. Just wish Jeff's camera was perfect today but he found the stabilizer switch had accidentally turned it off so many shots came out blurred. Grrrr.

It is so weird driving into another country without even having to stop or show a passport. Tomorrow we are back into the country and the Pyrenees mountains. Time to dust of the tramping boots.
